Hi Everyone,

I’m in the middle of a six week break from my T and I'm really struggling to find ways to cope because I’m just miserable. I’m not just suffering because of the break, which is bad in itself, but also all the others memories that are triggered because of the separation.

I found this one website about treating depression holistically that was really insightful. It might feel overwhelming to see all of the items listed, but I think it can be helpful to apply just one or two things. I’m trying to tackle one thing a week, if I’m able. http://www.healingfromdepressi...ion-holistically.htm

This week I’m working on a library of good memories. I picked a bunch of pictures from the past 12 months of good times I’ve had with people I care about. I plan on making a small album that I can keep in my purse so I can look at it multiple times a day.

I’d love to know what you guys think about this idea of holistic healing.

Big hugs to everyone.

PF,
I happen to be of the really lucky people for whom AD's are really effective, but I still think this is a really useful way to treat depression and being triggered. Thanks for posting the link.

My first therapist used to describe me as sitting on a stool and the more legs I added to that stool the more stable I was (therapy, meds, friends, family, journaling, faith). The more resources we develop, the less chance we are left stranded when one is not available (such as our terribly selfish therapists actually having the nerve to take a vacation! Big Grin). So I think a holistic approach can be very effective.
