Also, if you are typing a long reply, it can help to copy/paste it into a word program so that just in case it goes poof you still have it and can then just copy/paste and post it again. I've learned my lesson on typing long replies and not doing that. It is so frustrating!

Top tip is the one from STRMS - I copy EVERYTHING I write, they either go poof into thin air or else when I press post I get 'cannot display the webpage'??? Never got my head around that one
So just copy everything, then you can always paste it if it vanishes,

Wanted to say welcome to the forums and add my voice to the chorus. I almost always write my replies (unless I know they're going to be fairly short, which is embarrassingly rare for me
) in Wordpad, then when I'm done, I acutally hit the reply key and copy and paste what I wrote in the posting window. Got burnt a few times and lost WAY too much typing. The forum software can occasionally be fickle.
