Morning peeps -

Cloudy and dreary this morning, but I am wearing my long-sleeved t-shirt that says "Well-behaved women seldom make history" and getting ready to do some more chain-sawing. Plus I'm hauling rocks up from the creek (up hill!) to use in a garden path. Surely I am getting too old for this!

Hello peeps!

Got up late this morning because my night was long and sleep elusive. A lot has been on my mind and it's hard to turn it off. (Doesn't help for me to be posting on these boards into the wee hours of the morning. Wink )

The good news is that I don't appear to have gotten poison ivy after my yard work yesterday. I ripped out a whole bunch of it. It's the healthiest stuff on the property. I wore long pants and boots and long sleeves and gloves and tried not to touch my face at all. Fingers crossed. So far, so good.

An Early Good Morning Peeps -

The dogs have me up for a quick dash outside and a gobble of chow, so I thought I'd stop in to say mornin'. If I'm lucky, they'll let me go back to bed for a little more snooze.

How's everybody's week looking? I am facing a dirty house and all the laundry I should have done yesterday - plus if it is dry enough, I need to haul some more brush out of the yard. Anybody want to help?

A beautiful-sunny-blue-sky day in my part of the world. I think I'll paint some old flower boxes to freshen them up a bit, then get potting flowers this weekend and hope we don't have another frost. The tomato plants I put out on the deck have already bit the dust. I get a little over-eager for spring sometimes.

I hate fresh tomatoes. But I like tomato sauce (given my Italian roots, I'm picky about that, too. Half the stuff out there is way too sweet) and sun-dried tomatoes. Actually, I LOVE sun-dried tomatoes.

But fresh tomatoes - yuck. Even tomatoes that aren't necessarily fresh but still in chunks that haven't had all of the nutritious stuff smashed out, yeah, don't like those either. Smiler

Looking forward to a new outlook on life today as I am having all the windows in my house replaced! Now the trick will be keeping the dogs from eating the workmen while they're here!

Especially the cherry type
ones. I can pick those from the plant and eat them
like sweets, still warm from the sun. Lovely!!

Oh Yes AV I LOVE those too! Especially when they are warm in the sun!

Actually tomatoes are my favourite fruit. They always have been in all shapes and forms, although funny enough not in the ketchup/tomato sauce on your hotdog form like everyone else seems to like ...hmmm... tomatoes make my mouth water. Think I'll have some tomato and melted cheese on toast for breakfast this morning Smiler

Morning Peeps -

Almonds, dried Michigan cherries and grapefruit juice for breakfast. Some of my favorite things. Yum.

I see T at noon. Had an appt with her on Tuesday as well. I said to her, "I'm starting to feel attached to you and it's scaring the crap out of me." She replied, "Attach! Attach! It's what therapy is all about - connection." So, I needed to see her again this week. Eh!

You guys love your peanut butter over there on the other side of the pond don't you!! Big Grin I must admit, as a kid I ate the stuff all the time too. On toast; or straight out of the jar off the knife! but I haven't had any for ages. All this talk makes me want to go and buy a jar to get reacquainted with it Smiler Now; smooth or crunchy? Decisions, decisions.....
Morning peeps!

(At least it is morning in my part of the world. Perhaps I should say g'day instead!)

Cold and rainy today, so a good day to stay inside and get things done - like paying bills and making phone calls. Two things I hate doing. My phone calls have been accumulating for about six months (yes, I really, really procrastinate), so I am going to try hard to get them done.

I've thought a lot about why it is so hard for me to make phone calls. I actually think it has to do with all the times I have called my therapists over the years, left messages and then waited, believing that I was an annoyance and that she didn't want to talk to me. I think all that negative energy has accumulated and resulted in my really strong reluctance to make phone calls. Hmmm...

I hate phone calls because I can't "monitor" the other person while they're talking to me, so I can't see whether they're fed up, angry, impatient, etc. I've had to get over that in a major way for my job, but I still have trouble making personal calls. I've only called my T for personal (and not scheduling) reasons maybe.. 4 times in 3 years? It's super hard.

Dinner with the fam tonight. BIL & SIL are visiting from out of town, so we'll all get together. Ten of us including the three kids (2, 4, 16). I'm not related by blood to any of them, but they are my family. I do have some blood relatives, cousins, but I wouldn't recognize any of them if they were sitting right next to me.

A few minutes left of morning here. I overslept! I was up early to make breakfast and lunch for my sweet partner and feed the dogs but went back to bed for a couple more zzzz's. I even set the alarm. Alas...! This was the day I was going to return to my Zumba class. I guess it's gonna be a different day now.

Today - the house is a total wreck because we moved furniture yesterday and I am trying to go through things for my upcoming yard sale. Gotta call the accountant about my mom's taxes and the attorney about probate and meet the appraiser to pick up the report on mom's house. Then car to the dealer. (Rant: the headlight on the Toyota Prius is a complete unit, not just a bulb, and costs around $300 to replace) Then back home to meet the Orkin man who will be spraying for all the warm weather bugs. And then tonight my DBSA (Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance) group.

See. I really shouldn't have overslept.

Morning Peeps!

T & Pdoc appointments today. And maybe I'll go to an OA meeting tonight. Didn't get all of my chores done yesterday, so there's a little catch-up (ketchup? .. RT) to be done. I'm eating raisins in my oatmeal with brown sugar this morning and listening to the incredible news out of Cleveland Ohio about the three women who were in captivity for ten or so years. How does someone survive that? Reminds me to be grateful for the life and freedom that I do have. I am grateful for sweet raisins, the means to get mental health care and my three dogs who love me unconditionally.

Today I am giving you the gift of a five minute meditation by Brother David Steindl-Rast. I encourage you to take the time to watch this: A Good Day

Today I am returning to Zumba class! For the last couple of years, my routine has been Zumba on MWF at 9am. It's been a good way to get me moving for the day. But for the last several months, my attendance has been very sporadic - partly due to home repairs and construction workers that I needed to "supervise" and partly because I was going to an Intensive Outpatient program. I really need to be back in the groove. I am sure that my body is going to pay for it, and I hope my feet remember the routines.

If you haven't tried Zumba, I highly recommend it as a fun aerobic exercise. I have never been one to exercise, because it is so boring and un-fun. But Zumba - well, let's just say that it brings out the disco queen in me! Wink

The other thing that Zumba does is help my mental outlook. There's something about physical exercise that is good for the mind. Endorphins or something. Oh, and of course there is feeling physically healthy and able. That's amazing! Zumba was a big part of my Cool Thing - my 90 pound weight loss.
