Title: Incognito
Author: David Eagleman

I just started reading this book but it has already given me plenty to think about. The author likens consciousness to the newspaper: that there is so much going on in the brain, way too much for us to be aware of, that we only need to know the headlines. We couldn't handle any more than the headlines anyway. Consciousness developed last. Everything else was already in place and functioning before consciousness developed.

Hey, I'm reading the same book right now. I am enjoying it quite a bit. It makes me feel so adult to say that I am reading a book about the brain, but it is written in everyday language and not difficult to follow at all.

The little stories and examples are very interesting and they sort of stick with you. I find myself thinking about some of the contents as I go about my day.
