As we're all of different ages on here, I thought it might be fun to see what peoples favourite year was for pop music releases; with a few examples to back up your choice.

As I'm considered a fossil (Thanks Draggers!!); my choice is 1967 Eeker

Just think of these delights:-

Sergeant Pepper - The Beatles
Are you experienced? - Jimi Hendrix
The Piper at the gates of dawn - Pink Floyd
Forever Changes - Love
The Doors - The Doors
Disraeli Gears - Cream
I Never Loved a Man the Way I Love You - Aretha Franklin
The Who sell out - The Who

Can anyone think of a better vintage?

btw; I'm listening to Pet Sounds as I'm typing this but I think that was from '66 Smiler

Hey, do you remember that thread about songs that could have been about therapy but weren't?

While I was listening to the Beach Boys earlier these lyrics came up:-

I know perfectly well
Im not where I should be
Ive been very aware
Youve been patient with me

Every time we break up
You bring back your love to me
And after all Ive done to you
How can it be

You still believe in me

I try hard to be more
What you want me to be
But I can't help how I act
When you're not here with me

I try hard to be strong
But sometimes I fail myself
And after all Ive promised you
So faithfully

You still believe in me

I wanna cry...

Hmmm, how I'd like to say those words to T....
Got to be 1984!

When Does Cry. Prince
Like a Virgin. Madonna
Karma Chameleon Culture Club
Reflex Duran Duran
Dancing in the Dark. Bruce Springsteen
Infatuation. Rod Stewart
An Innocent Man Billy Joel
Eyes w/o A Face Billy Idol
Legs. ZZ Top
Thriller Michael Jackson
Girls Just Wanna Have Fun. Cindi Lauper
Pink Houses. John C. Melloncamp
Blue Jean David Bowie

Dam there are sooooo many many more!
Oh, I've got a few CD's Draggers; they're hanging up in the garden on bits of string. They're great for scaring the pigeons away from me veggies!!

Seriously; I've got around 2000 lp's and singles but only about 100 or so CD's; and as for i-thingies, well what the heck are they? Confused
I've just bought a brand new record player - just waiting for it to be delivered in the next week or so. That makes me a fossil AND a luddite then Big Grin
hahaha; probably explains why I had to leave W - to make more room for my record collection!! The only things I've got with 'Apple' written on it are the lp's and singles of the Beatles (oh and Mary Hopkin of course!!)

A Luddite, Draggers - "One who fears technology (or new technology, as they seem pleased with how things currently are" Sums me up perfectly. Big Grin

This place is a mine of information isn't it!!
(((The Kid)))

That's variety all right!! Eeker everything from the 40's to the 80's in there Big Grin

I'll bet Pet Clark is grinning from ear to ear having been mentioned in the same breath as the likes of Glenn Miller, Barbra Streisand, Chuck Berry and Little Richard! Big Grin

btw; I've no idea which era you were born in from that selection!!
